FANtastica magazine was founded in early 2007 and quickly became one of the leading Russian monthlies covering science fiction and fantasy in various media: literature and cinema, PC games and board games. With the current printrun of 24,000 copies, each 160 pages issue (including 32 pages fiction supplement) offers:
— exclusive interviews with giants of the field, such as writers Terry Pratchett and Boris Strugatsky, book artists Sergei Shikin and Anton Lomaev;
— book and film reviews by the respected columnists and prestigious analysts;
— in-depth profiles on such luminaries as William Gibson and George Martin, Philip K. Dick and Gene Wolfe, Svyatoslav Loginov and Alexander Bushkov;
— short fiction by Robert Salvatore, Ben Bova, Geoffrey A. Landis, Elena Haetzkaya, Anton Pervushin and other prominent authors.
FANtastica diligently covers a lot of conventions held in Russia and other republics of the former USSR. Each magazine issue is accompanied with a special poster and a DVD offering such special features as movie trailers and PC games previews.
